Wonder working water. Where would we be without it. Plants would whither, animals would die and human life could not be sustained. It's water that makes all the difference. And so it is with the water of the Word.
When the potter works on the clay, he must add water to make the work go smoothly. Without adding water to the clay, it would create friction, the clay would dry and become brittle.
This is a very similar picture of God working in the life of a believer without the believer being in His Word. The work goes hard and the believer becomes dry and brittle. Not a good thing! We need the water of the Word.
