Compassion is a virtue that goes two ways. It provides help to the one receiving it and it keeps the heart soft of the one showing it. Compassion also points people to God because He is the author of it. For God so loved the world that He gave, (that's compassion) His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life.
